Burritt’s Historic Park interprets the past by showcasing aspects of farm life from the 19th century. Living history interpreters, dressed in period clothing, recreate the diversity of farm life allowing you to become involved through lively conversation, demonstration, and hands-on activities.

Stroll through the park and enjoy the sights and sounds of the barnyard. Listen carefully and you may hear the fiddler on the front porch. Meticulously restored historic buildings, authentic 19th Century crops, and living history interpreters demonstrating common lifeways of the past will add to your educational visit. Please ask lots of questions. Our interpreters are always pleased to share their knowledge with you.

kids_in_treeThe Adventures of Tom Sawyer come to life this October at Burritt on the Mountain! Join us for Burritt’s Fall Camp from October 5-7. Take a trip back in time and recreate Tom Sawyer’s life and escapades for grades K-5. Experience games, crafts, and foods that Tom, Becky, and their friends would have encountered in the mid-1800s. Watch the blacksmith at work, experience whitewashing, and picnic outdoors as we learn about caves. Meet barnyard animals, cheer at an origami frog race, and learn to play marbles just like Tom and his pals did so long ago. We’ll even re-enact the famous church scene! For more info.
