Joel Eddins House

Eddins and cornOnce located just outside of Ardmore, Alabama, land records suggest that the Joel Eddins House was erected as early as 1808, which makes it the oldest currently existing dwelling of any kind in the state of Alabama. The floor plan of the Eddins House is unique to the area with its hall and chamber style. Adding to the various types of architecture present within the Historic Park, this plan traces back through Tidewater Virginia to the folk housing of the late Medieval England.
